I’m 18 years old…. a reflection

December 20, 2008

“For God so loved the world that He gave his one and his only begotten  Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

God is so good that He will do anything in order for us to become better.  This is the time to thank Him on what He had done not only for me, but for all of us.  Inside my masterpiece, you will read the different things I had learned for the past semester with regards in the different aspects of MORAL THEOLOGY.

My masterpiece will tackle about the four important words of Moral Theology, the freedom, the law, the love, and most especially the fruit and will enable it to connect from one another in the help of different  Bible passages which are:

Isaiah 59
Hebrews 4
Romans 7
Romans 8
Matthew 5
Ephesians 1
Ephesians 2
Revelations 21
Galatian 5

Then God said, “ Let us make man in our image , in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” – Genesis 1:26

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made.  He said to the woman, ” Did God really say, ‘ You must not eat from any tree in the garden?” – Genesis 2:1

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” – Genesis 3 : 8-9

The Lord God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.  And the Lord God said. ” The man has now become like one of us now, knowing good and evil.  He must not be allowed to reach out his hands and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever. – Genesis 3 : 21-22

My Reflection:

Satan said,  ” Eve, totoo ba?...” a very tricky yet effective question in tempting Eve to eat the forbidden fruit.  It really means that evil will come to any man by different means but we should nothing to afraid of because, as God says on the first place on the snake…. ” Talo ka na..”, that evil will eventually lose in we only trust and believe on God.

Isaiah 59: Sin, Confession and Redemption

My Reflection:

God gave us freedom, to choose different choices, the good ones and the bad ones.  But as a person, we often make mistakes and choose wrong choices in life and will lead eventually in doing sins.

It’s so hard to avoid doing sin, yet we should prevent ourselves doing such kind of act for God knew what bad things that you have done. God is everywhere that nohing in all of His Creation is hidden in his sight.  God is just aware of us not on the sin. In a Filipino tem: “Kinalolokohan tayo ni God.”Kinalolokohan in the place that He will not be tired in seeing us for Him to be assured that we do good things not only for Him but for the others.

But God has provided the only way we people must make the choice… and that is to choice Christ as the center of our life.

Hebrew 4: Sabbath Day and the Word of God

My Reflection:

The third testaments says: ” Keep holy the Sabbath Day“, means that attending the holy mass is very important because it is the time where we can hear the Good News of Salvation. In the Bible, it states that the Word of God is like a “double – edged sword” which cut through and penetrates to dividing soul and spirit.

It simply means that the His word is so powerful that even the devils cannot withstand it.  His words also feed our spirit which help to make our faith became stronger and stronger.

Romans 7: Law of Man

My Reflection:

In order to have orderliness in our society, laws were invented.  Laws are set of rules which helps the persons to become a good citizen of the society. If we have laws, we also have punishments.  We follow the law because we are simply afraid on the consequence it will made.  Thanks to the law, because law prevent us to be a sinner.
